Oven: 220°C

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb plain flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 pint milk
  • 1 tbsp cooking fat/lard

Method

  1. Mix batter ingredients very well, then leave to stand for 30 min.
  2. Heat oven to 200°C. Put fat into tins, heat in the oven until smoking.
  3. Put batter in tins, bake in very hot oven until brown.
  4. Reduce the heat and finish cooking for 10-15 mins.
